How we collect, use, and protect your information

This Privacy Policy explains how CampusClique ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, apps, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email, and authentication identifiers.
  • Profile information: college, passout year, bio, skills, certifications, links, and profile photo (if you upload one).
  • User content: ideas/projects you post, collaboration requests, chat messages, and other content you choose to share.
  • Usage and device data: basic logs such as pages visited, actions taken, and error reports to maintain and improve the Service.

2How we use information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including account access and collaboration features).
  • Personalize your experience (such as showing relevant people, ideas, and teams).
  • Send important service notifications (password resets, verification emails, and collaboration updates).
  • Improve reliability, security, and performance (fraud/abuse prevention and debugging).

3Visibility controls

You control who can discover your profile and content using visibility settings: Public allows any logged-in user to view it; College-only restricts visibility to users from the same college (based on the college name you provide).

4Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share information only when necessary to provide the Service, comply with law, prevent abuse, or with vendors who help us operate the Service (e.g., email delivery). These vendors are permitted to process data only for these purposes.

5Data retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request account deletion in Settings; we will delete or anonymize data where feasible and legally required.

6Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7Your choices

  • Update or correct profile details from Settings.
  • Control visibility of your profile and selected sections (bio, skills, links, etc.).
  • Opt out of non-essential email notifications from Settings (where applicable).
